How to play KenKen

KenKen combines a number grid with arithmetic clues. Each outlined cage has a target and, for larger cages, an operation. You must satisfy those cage clues while using each digit once in every row and column.

  1. Fill the 4×4 grid with digits 1–4, once each in every row and column.
  2. Each outlined cage must produce its target using its printed operation. A single-cell cage fixes its digit.
  3. Choose a digit then a cell, or focus a cell and press 1–4. Select Erase or press Delete to clear.

Tips for your next round

  • Fill single-cell cages first: their targets give you fixed digits that restrict the surrounding row and column.
  • List possible combinations for a cage, then eliminate combinations that repeat a digit in one row or column.

These are compact 4×4 puzzles with digits 1–4. The launch collection has three original base puzzles shown in different orientations.
