How to play Futoshiki
Futoshiki is a number puzzle in which greater-than and less-than signs help determine the grid. Like a Latin square, every row and column contains each digit once. Unlike Sudoku, there are no smaller boxes with their own uniqueness rule.
- Place digits 1–4 once each in every row and column.
- Every displayed comparison must be true; the pointed end faces the smaller number.
- Given digits are locked. Choose a number and cell, or type 1–4 on a focused cell.
Tips for your next round
- The pointed end of a comparison faces the smaller number. A cell larger than another cell cannot contain 1.
- Follow chains of comparisons. In a 1–4 grid, four cells linked in strictly increasing order must contain 1, 2, 3 and 4.
This version uses 4×4 boards and digits 1–4. Three original base puzzles are available in different orientations.
