How to play Hashi (Bridges)

Hashi, or Hashiwokakero, is a puzzle of islands and bridges. Each island needs the number of bridges printed on it. Bridges run horizontally or vertically, and a correct finish connects every island to the same network.

  1. Select two islands in the same row or column with no island between them.
  2. Repeat to cycle between no bridge, one bridge and two parallel bridges.
  3. Each island needs its printed number of bridges. Bridges cannot cross, and all islands must be connected.

Tips for your next round

  • Each visible neighbor can supply at most two bridges. If an island needs that full capacity, every possible connection must be doubled.
  • Check connectivity before completing a small group. Matching every number is not enough if some islands are cut off from the rest.

Select two aligned islands to cycle through zero, one and two bridges. The compact launch collection has three original base puzzles in different orientations.
