FreeCell is a patience game where every card is dealt face up, so skill and planning matter far more than luck. Build the four foundations from ace to king by suit, using four free cells as temporary parking spots. Most deals can be solved with careful planning. How to play FreeCell
- 1All 52 cards are dealt face up into 8 columns. Your goal is to move every card to the four foundations.
- 2Build each foundation upward by suit, from ace to king.
- 3In the columns, place a card on a card one rank higher and of the opposite colour, for example a red 6 on a black 7.
- 4Each of the 4 free cells holds a single card. Use them to free up buried cards, but keep as many empty as you can.
- 5You can move several cards at once, up to (free cells + 1) x 2 for every empty column. Moving to an empty column halves that limit.
- 6Tap a card to send it to the best spot automatically, foundation first, or drag it where you want it. Made a mistake? Press undo.

Can every FreeCell deal be won?
No. Almost all deals can be solved, but a few cannot. With careful planning, most deals are winnable, so think a few moves ahead before you fill the free cells.
What does the game number mean?
Every deal is generated from its number. The same number always gives the same layout, so you can replay a deal or challenge a friend with it.
What is the daily deal?
A deal that is the same for everyone on a given day. A new one appears each day (UTC), and the game remembers whether you finished today's.
How many cards can I move at once?
Up to (free cells + 1) x 2 for every empty column. With four empty free cells and no empty column that is 5 cards; moving into an empty column halves the limit.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. The game in progress and your stats are stored in your browser, so a reload continues where you stopped. FreeCell here is free and needs no registration.
